2008 Garage Sale is June 14
Plan now to participate in the 2008 Temple Hills neighborhood-wide Garage Sale on Saturday, June 14. Just put a balloon on your mailbox the day of the sale and you're in. It's a great opportunity to cash in on used clothing, kids' stuff and toys, sporting equipment, furniture, collectibles, and antiques. The rain date is the following Saturday.
Special Election ARC Member - June 12
Due to a recent resignation from the Architectural Review Committee and a problem with quorums, the board is calling a special election of one ARC member at the Homeowners Meeting on June 12 at 7:30. Anyone interested in finishing out the term as a member should contact the ARC. Please try to attend this meeting. Only those present will vote.
Drainage Update
According to Brad Hoot with the Drainage Committee, 9 small drainage projects are underway including four maintenance jobs. Overall, the new drainage measures worked well during the heavy rains this spring. Remember, don't put leaves and clippings in the ditches and contact Brad before grading.

Roads Update
According to Stan Tyson, County Road Commissioner, the parties involved in widening Old Temple Road have reached a tentative agreement on a curb and gutter road with no ditch. A court date is scheduled for this August. The plan is to increase the pavement width to 20 feet with bicycle-friendly under drains.
Signs at Front Entrances
According to county officials, the entrances to Temple Hills and THW are both county right-of-ways and no signs are allowed. For now, a limited number of open house or garage sale signs can be placed at the end of the first median on Temple Road on weekends only. Please avoid the landscaped areas which are full of utility lines.
Please Limit Parking on Streets
We continue to have safety issues with residents and visitors parking on our streets for extended periods of time. This is particularly a problem on narrow streets where an emergency vehicle could be blocked from entering. Please park in the driveway whenever possible.
CWW - Temple Hills
Community Without Walls (CWW) is a non-profit organization that seeks resources that allow seniors to remain in their homes as they age. The Reserve at Temple Hills
As of mid-May, construction has begun on five homes in Phase I. Two wooded sites and golf course sites remain available. The entrance including landscaping is scheduled for completion in May.
Please Watch Your Speed
Please remember that the speed limit for Temple Road is 30 mph and 25 mph for all other streets in the neighborhood. We are currently exploring a range of traffic calming measures for Temple Road.
Barking Dogs
Dogs that bark excessively or roam freely continue to be a nuisance for some residents. If you have a minor or a first complaint, contact Hillary Jewell in Temple Hills at 646-1318. To file an official complaint with the county about an on-going dog problem, use the Animal Control Complaint Form posted on this website under Documents.
Dirt Bike Riding, Individual Fireworks Prohibited
Please keep in mind that riding dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles and go carts in the Temple Hills neighborhood is prohibited by the Association Covenants. Individual fireworks are prohibited too.
